In light of the cancellation of two major tournament circuits, I was inspired to document my local Super Smash Brothers Melee community. Over the past eight months, MD/VA Melee has ran multiple successful grassroots events, including multiple Baltimore M Series monthlies and Xanadu Legends, the Spring 2023 Melee Arcadian, and even a side tournament at a EDM rave. The culmination of our local efforts were put on display with strong performances at Super Smash Con. Photographs and Melee, 2023.
